Discover a selection of our customers and projects in Stationary Solutions, eTransport Solutions and Specialty Battery System.

Our in-house technologies covering the full value chain

Our core technology expertise ranges from electrochemistry to energy management software. Leclanché develops, designs and manufactures complete battery storage solutions covering the entire technology chain from cells

to pack solutions for Hybrid Electric Vehicles (HEVs) and Battery Electric Vehicles (BEVs), as well as complete, energy storage solutions for utilities, grid operators and other large scale energy storage applications.

Cells

Leclanché engineers and manufactures its own cells which enables us to develop custom-designed solutions to meet the exact requirements of our customers. We also specify third-party cells when appropriate.

Modules / BMS

Modules & components are fitted into robust packs which can include air or water cooling systems as required. Battery management systems and switch boxes are also integrated within the pack ensuring fully self-contained energy storage systems.

Packs

Packs are adapted to operate faultlessly in the environmental conditions required by different systems or whatever the application: trains, buses, vessels and other electric vehicles; industrial; and grids and microgrids.

Marine Rack System

State-of-the-art battery storage system for marine applications. RINA and DNV-GL type approved; scalable in size, capacity and rated voltage; and fitted with liquid-cooling. Available with both water mist and foam-based fire suppression systems.

EMS

Leclanché's EMS software suite offers cutting-edge tools to manage large grid-connected battery energy storage systems (BESS). The EMS is designed with the flexibility for the integrating with multiple battery/inverter combinations.

Our solutions

Leclanché is reorganizing itself to become a green tech software and systems integration company with expanded production and R&D capabilities. Our core operating units consist of Stationary Solutions, e-Transport Solutions and Special Battery Systems while an independent,

Build-Own-Operate projects business line has been established for selected Stationary Solutions projects with a long-term power purchase agreement and/or offtake agreement with local customers. Battery and module production facilities are located in Germany and Switzerland.

Leclanché’s e-Transport Solutions team powers the electrification of transport (trains, vessels, trucks and more) through efficient, proven and reliable energy storage solutions.

This group creates custom low-voltage battery systems for a wide range of demanding applications.

Leclanché Stationary Solutions business group provides substantial benefits to grid operators, utilities and corporate and commercial energy users.

Our commitment

We're committed to respecting our environment, sustaining our communities, investing in our team and growing shareholder value.

Environment

Environmental awareness and concern for the future of our planet is in our DNA and guides everything we do. For example, in our German plant, cell assembly starts with the electrode manufacturing exclusively using a water-based binder (WBB) process in an eco-friendly environment.

We also set up a circular economy process to minimize the environmental footprint throughout the batteries life-cycle and maximize value for customers.

The Challenges The electrification of transportation is expanding at a fast pace and that includes the maritime sector where a growing list of countries are requiring the electrification of ferries. Fully electric ferries reduce emissions – and noise (especially important within the harbor) – as well as operational costs. Passenger ferries, which travel relatively […]

Romande Energie, Aigle

As known, the intermittent nature of renewable energy resources, such as wind and solar, can force electrical grids to operate in unfeasible conditions. In order to evaluate the best possible way to overcome this challenge and develop innovative grid solutions, the country founded the Swiss Competence Center of Electrical Infrastructure (SCCER-FURIES).
