Leclanché energy storage systems are fitted with our in-house developed Battery Management Systems (BMS).
The BMS is an integral part of Leclanché’s high-voltage battery systems. It ensures software and hardware safety for over/under voltage, over current, over/under temperature and pre-charge protection.

The E-Mobility BMS consists of two parts:
The FSM is the central control unit that monitors and controls the status of the batteries, including system charging, discharging and host communication. The FSM can be configured and integrated into the customer battery system via CAN or serial communication interfaces.
The FSS is the local voltage and temperature measurement unit for the battery modules. The FSS monitors up to 24 individual cell voltages, and up to 19 cell temperatures depending on the module configuration. The measurements are transmitted to the FSS via the internal communication BUS. The FSS also contains passive cell balancing circuitry controlled by the FSS to bring all cells in the module and battery to an equal state of charge (SOC). Multiple FSSs can be daisy-chained for a maximum system voltage of up to 1200 VDC.
A diagnostics tool provides system and cell-level information, error handling, master and slave firmware updates, system configuration and parameter management, signal logging and visualisation.
Note: Leclanché does not currently offer the BMS as a stand-alone product.
